چکیده

In the energy transition, multi-energy systems are crucial to reduce temporal, spatial and functional mismatch between sustainable supply demand. Technologies as power-to-heat (PtH) allow flexible effective utilisation of available surplus green electricity when integrated with seasonal heat storage options. However, insights methods for integration PtH in lacking. Therefore, this study, we developed improved control a high temperature aquifer thermal (HT-ATES) system within decentralized system. To end, expanded model numerical hydro-thermal dynamically simulate functioning several HT-ATES designs case study neighbourhood 2000 houses. Results show that allows 100% provision yearly demand, maximum 25% smaller pump than without HT-ATES. Success is partly caused by mode operation whereby lowers threshold HT-ATES, increases performance decreases overall costs production. Overall, shows suitable match annual demand supply, increase local use.

Metal Hydride Heat Storage Technology for Directed Energy Weapon Systems

Directed Energy Weapon (DEW) systems in a pulse operation mode dissipate excessively large, transient waste heat because of their inherent inefficiencies. The heat storage system can store such a pulsed heat load not relying on oversized systems and dissipate the stored heat over time after the pulse operation. A compressor-driven metal hydride heat storage system was developed for efficient, c...

Improve Energy Efficiency via Heat Integration

Process integration consists of numerous techniques that allow engineers to evaluate entire processes or sites, rather than focus on individual unit operations. It includes hierarchical design methods, knowledge-based systems, numerical and graphical techniques, and pinch analysis (1, 2). In the area of energy effi ciency, pinch methods dominate. Indeed, the terms pinch analysis and process int...

Promoting Decentralized Sustainable Energy Systems in Different Supply Scenarios: The Role of Autarky Aspiration

The development of decentralized renewable energy systems is of crucial importance for the decarbonization of energy generation worldwide. Purchase decisions regarding innovative energy systems depend to some extent on consumers’ perception of the systems’ degree of autarky. We assumed that, in addition to the energetic perspective, consumers associate other non-energetic facets such as indepen...

The Seasonal Heat Budget of the North Pacific: Net Heat Flux and Heat Storage Rates (1950–1990)

A new estimate of the heat budget for the North Pacific Ocean is presented in this paper. The seasonal net heat flux and heat storage rates were calculated for the North Pacific Ocean from 1950 to 1990 on a spatial resolution of 58 3 58. Temperature profiles from the National Ocean Data Center were used to calculate the heat storage rates. Satellite remotely sensed solar irradiance and ship mar...

Energy integration of industrial sites with heat exchange restrictions

Process integration methods aim at identifying options for heat recovery and optimal energy conversion in industrial processes. By applying pinch analysis methods, the first step is to calculate the maximum heat recovery between cold and hot streams. The second step consists in designing the corresponding heat recovery exchanger network, based on a fixed list of streams. For the heat cascade, i...
